U3 with SSI sensor

Can the U3 communicate via SPI with a slave that uses SSI?  If so, how would the signals connect?

The U3 does not support SSI. The hardware interface is not compatible with the U3's IO and the U3 does not have software capable of interpreting the signaling. That being said, it may be possible to use SPI, a hardware interface to acquire a bit stream that can then be analyzed in software.


Sounds like a fun challenge, but not a practical solution.
