Is it possible to connect rotary encoders to all FIO and EIO (8+8) lines on the U6, but only use 6 lines (so, all 4 timers and 2 counters) at a time? I need to use multiple encoders (not all of them use quadrature mode), but I don't use them all at the same time. Is it possible to reconfigure the timers and counters multiple times in the program? I'm using VB.NET on Windows 7.

Thanks in advance.

You can change TimerCounterPinOffset, NumberTimersEnabled, and Counter#Enabled, at any time, so yes you can move them around.

The allowable range for TimerCounterPinOffset is 0-8 on the U6.  That means that with TimerCounterPinOffset=8, NumberTimersEnabled=4, Counter0Enabled=TRUE, and Counter1Enabled=TRUE, Counter1 will appear on EIO5 and that is the highest EIO line you can get to.
