Is there a good way to capture a specific number of data samples during streaming? I would also like to be able to start the streaming based on an outside event (trigger) that is either edge or level based. Any suggestions? I am using a U6-PRO, trying to capture data from either 1 or 2 channels and running at 50K sample rate.

The only way to do that with the U6 is by streaming all the time and use software to handle the triggering. Let your software decide how many samples to keep, and bring the trigger in with your other signals so software can look for it to decide where to start keeping data. If you acquire 2 analog input channels plus a trigger channel (193 perhaps?), your max scan rate will be 50k/3 = 16.7k.
