I am an engineering student and my project is to make a musical synthesizer. How do I wire up a labjack to a speaker to make a musical synthesizer?

I am guessing you would update a DAC to create the desired waveform, send that waveform to some sort of amp or speaker driver, and send the output of that to the speaker. It that is the case, the the update rate of the DAC might be limiting you:
